چکیده
Abstract This paper investigates the impact of different matching layers on ultrasonic transducers’ performance. Matching are mostly used to solve acoustic impedance problem between piezoelectric element and test specimen. To design good layers, we merged metal–polymer mass–spring systems. Their thickness was also optimized using quarter-wavelength approach. Silver, alumina, copper served as mass components, while parylene polymer spring component. first time use such materials with lead zirconate titanate (PZT) transducers. The sensitivity increased, beam diameter broadened, signal-to-noise ratio reduced, echo-height increased. According findings, developed were extremely efficient in upgrading PZT transducers, making them ideal for a variety non-destructive applications identifying defects various materials. In addition, new transducers may be useful calibration.

High Temperature Integrated and Flexible Ultrasonic Transducers for NDT
Integrated (IUTs) and flexible ultrasonic transducers (FUTs) are presented for NDT at high temperatures. These transducers are made of sol-gel sprayed piezoelectric thick (> 40μm) ceramic films. The ceramic materials are lead-zirconate-titanate, bismuth titanate and lithium niobate which are for thickness measurement up to 150°C, 400°C and 800°C, respectively. The IUT can be also deposited onto...
متن کاملMulti-horn matching plate for ultrasonic transducers
The problem of matching a thick piezoelectric transducer to an air medium is considered and it is concluded that a suitable matching device can be designed and built in the form of a rigid plate, a few millimetres thick and pierced by a closely packed array of horn-shaped channels, the wide mouths of the horns facing the external world and the narrow throats facing the transducer. Design parame...

This paper investigates low cost matching network for high impedance ultrasonic transducers. Matching the output transmitter impedance to high impedance transducer is important to maximize the transfer of power and improve the transmitting efficiency of the transducer, and so achieve better signal-to-noise ratio. In NDT ultrasonic applications based on piezoelectric transducers it is usual to i...

متن کاملCharacterization of Ultra-thin Quarter-wavelength Matching Layers of High Frequency Ultrasonic Transducers
The quarter-wavelength (hi4) acoustic matching layer is a vital component in medical ultrasonic transducers, which can bridge the large acoustic impedance mismatch between the piezoelectric material and the human body. .At high frequencies (>5OMHz), the hi4 matching layers become extremely thin and the characterization of its properties becomes very challenging. We report a novel method to meas...
